Getting Crafty: My Healthy Obsession
Welcome to The Lalaland Shoppe!! My name is Larissa and I have forever been a creative. And also, forever an entrepreneur. Growing up, my Mom had a hair salon, and while I wasn't busy answering her phones and making appointments for her, I was making and selling something to her customers. It started out with various painted wood knick knacks and evolved into a small cake business. I took cake decorating classes and would sell cakes for special occasions to friends, family and my Mom's hair clients.
Fast forward many years and a friend of mine and I started making jewelry for Christmas presents. I'm not even sure how that started, I just remember sitting on the floor of our local craft store in the jewelry aisle, reading up on what we needed to get started, haha. (Yes, we were sitting on that dirty floor! Yes, it makes me cringe thinking about it now too!) I had a blast with that for a few years. Life got busy and a full-time 9-5 took over.
Fast forward a few more years and I was engaged! I had always wanted a Cricut, since they first came out, but never invested in one. Well, making my wedding invitations was the perfect excuse I needed to make that purchase! Not only did I make our invitations, I made gifts for our wedding party, for my bachelorette party, decor for the wedding in general and the list goes on and on. I had a blast and have learned A LOT along the way in the vinyl world.
After the wedding, I decided to start making these things for sale for other brides! The planning process was stressful to say the least and I thought, I would love to be even just a small part of making it easier for any bride-to-be. I'm honored when I get to have a small part of someone's big day!
I'm working on expanding my offerings of wedding decor, home decor and personalized gifts every day. I'm often busy with custom orders, and very thankful to God for being so blessed! So far, my number one seller is my personalized last name signs. Many have bought them as wedding gifts, bridal shower gifts, anniversary gifts or just to have on their wall at home. We all love our last name and feel a sense of pride towards it. There's just something about putting it on the wall! Especially, when a wedding has happened, and a new last name is being taken. There's some kind of magic in that.
I'd love it if you took a second to shop around my Etsy store. Come back often for more blog posts. I'm also going to be looking at helping brides and others interested in doing projects themselves! Be sure to leave your email address if you'd like to be notified when those types of videos/courses are available.
Thanks so much for reading and checking out my page! Your love and continued support means the world to me! -Larissa xo
